Calculate Gravel Volume, Waste and Cost Before You Order
Use the calculator result as a planning estimate for rectangular gravel areas. Measure carefully, enter the gravel depth in centimetres, and confirm the final order with your supplier before delivery.
Calculate Volume for One Area
Once the depth has been converted to metres, the calculator multiplies length, width and depth to find the volume for one area.
Volume per area = length × width × depth in metres
Account for Multiple Areas
If several areas have identical dimensions, use the quantity field to combine their gravel requirements into one gross volume.
Gross volume = volume per area × quantity
Add a Waste Allowance
A waste allowance can help cover spreading variation, minor unevenness and practical site losses before the final order is placed.
Waste volume = gross volume × (waste % ÷ 100)
Find Cubic Metres and Cubic Yards
The calculator adds the waste allowance to the gross volume and also converts the final cubic metre result to cubic yards.
Final m³ = gross volume + waste volume
Estimate Material Cost
Enter an optional supplier price per cubic metre to estimate the material cost for the final calculated gravel volume.
Estimated cost = final m³ × price per m³
