This ceiling calculator first determines the surface area of one rectangular ceiling. When several rooms have the same dimensions, the calculator multiplies that area by the number of rooms to determine the total ceiling area.
It then applies your selected waste percentage and uses the coverage per tile or panel to estimate the number of complete pieces required for the project.

The final quantity is rounded upward because a project cannot normally purchase a fraction of a complete ceiling tile or panel.

The calculator accepts a waste percentage from 0% to 50%. Choose a percentage appropriate for your material, installation pattern and project conditions rather than automatically assuming that every ceiling needs the same waste allowance.
