Check Large Openings
The calculator uses the wall dimensions you enter. If large doors or windows should not be bricked, subtract their areas before ordering.
Adjusted area = Wall area − Openings
Include the Mortar Joint
Brick coverage depends on the visible brick face plus the mortar joint. Enter the dimensions that match the brick and joint used on site.
Effective face = (Brick length + Joint) × (Brick height + Joint)
Estimate Base Bricks
Wall area is divided by the effective brick face area. The result is rounded upward so a partial brick requirement becomes a whole brick.
Base bricks = ⌈Wall area ÷ Effective face area⌉
Add Waste Allowance
Extra bricks help cover breakage, cutting and normal site variation. Choose a waste percentage appropriate for the project.
Final bricks = ⌈Exact base × (1 + Waste ÷ 100)⌉
Estimate Material Cost
If you know the supplier price per brick, enter it to estimate the brick material cost. Other project costs remain separate.
Brick cost = Final bricks × Price per brick
