This calculator lets you choose the waste percentage rather than silently applying a fixed allowance. The accepted waste range is 0% to 50%.
If your supplier quotes lumber by the board foot, enter the optional price per board foot. The calculator multiplies that price by the final waste-adjusted board-foot requirement.
For example, if the calculated requirement is 44.00 board feet and lumber costs $5 per board foot, the estimated material cost is $220.
