DIGITAL COLOR GUIDE

How to Use the Image Color Picker

Select a pixel from an image and analyze its digital color as HEX, RGB, XYZ, LAB and LCh.

01

Choose an Image

Load a supported digital image and use the picker workspace to inspect its pixels.

Image → Digital pixels
02

Select a Pixel

Pick the point you want to analyze. The selected pixel supplies its red, green and blue channel values.

Selected pixel → R + G + B
03

Read HEX and RGB

The selected digital color is reported directly as HEX and RGB values.

RGB → HEX
04

Review XYZ, LAB and LCh

Gallop ColorEngine converts the selected sRGB pixel into XYZ, LAB and LCh color representations.

sRGB → XYZ → LAB → LCh
05

Check the Coordinates

When available, the report keeps the canvas position, original-image position and image dimensions with the result.

Pixel color + position → Digital color report
06

Understand the Digital Limit

The result represents a digital image pixel, not a measured physical surface color. Image and display processing can change appearance.

Digital pixel ≠ physical color measurement

Use the Result in Context

Use the picker to inspect and convert digital image colors. For physical paint, print, textile or material matching, remember that lighting, camera processing, editing, compression and display calibration can affect appearance.
